Language Trainers Connect provides 5-week online open group language courses where you can learn from one of our professional teachers while interacting with other learners who share your passion to know a new language. All students must be 16 years or older (if you are under 16, we can arrange individual lessons or a closed group for you and your friends - please inquire here)
If you would like to book a course on behalf of someone else, please contact us with details about who the other person is and the course you want to book.
We recommend booking your place on a course as soon as possible to avoid disappointment. Once the course reaches the maximum number of allowed students, you will no longer be able to book your place and will have to wait for the next course to become available.
The classes will be in small groups which range from a minimum of 3 students to a maximum of 10. These small groups are ideal for students who would like more personalized feedback from their teacher but also enable students to enjoy a variety of group activities, diverse conversational input, and a great social experience.
Once a course is fully booked, it will appear as greyed out and you will no longer be able to reserve a place on it.
The course will be cancelled. We will offer you the opportunity to switch your booking to another course. If there is no other course available that you want to book, we will provide a full refund.
Yes, but each person will need to book their place on the course independently. If you would like to check how many open seats are available on a particular course before you book, you can send us an inquiry.
At Language Trainers, we welcome professionals on our courses and group bookings are possible but please contact us in advance to arrange this since any staff that wish to enroll in a course must reserve their spot individually and we will want to make sure that there are enough places available for your group.
Please be aware that Language Trainers Connect courses are open to everyone, but there are limited spaces available, and seats are allocated on a first come, first served basis. Thus, it is possible your staff may take the course with other members of the public as classmates.
If you would prefer a closed one-to-one or group course for your staff (and only them), send us an inquiry about our private courses. This option is more suitable if you want to guarantee your staff are enrolled in the same course together. It is also the best way to ensure the teacher focuses on the precise language skills you want your staff to learn.
Use the search form on the main Language Trainers Connect page to choose the language you want to learn, your current level, and the course you want to book. You will be taken to a booking page where you can pay for the course to reserve your place. We will send you a confirmation email to confirm your booking.
You can take one of our FREE online Language Level Tests. Each test only takes an average of 15 minutes to complete, and you will receive your level instantly.
If you do not see the language you want to learn, contact us and we will help arrange a test for you.
No. Beginners 1 is the same as Complete Beginners, this level is for those with no prior knowledge or those who wish to start the language again from the complete beginning. After many years without studying or practicing, you may feel that you need to take your language learning path right from the start. However, our courses take into account the difference between Complete Beginners and people who have a limited experience of the language. From Complete Beginners to Beginners 2 to Beginners 3, you can find the exact match for your level. Complete Beginners groups consist of people who have never had the slightest contact with the target language, whereas learners from Beginners 3 groups will have reached A1 level by the end of their course, and Beginners 2 groups are somewhere in between. All our levels relate to Common European Framework levels, you can get more information about that here (insert link to where we say more about this, if necessary on the main site). In order to choose the level that best corresponds to your learning needs, you can take a language level test or get in touch with one of our course advisors.
Yes, provided there are spaces available, you can join before the second lesson but please note you will still have to pay the full price of the course.
After the second lesson has happened, the course will be closed to new entrants. This is to ensure the existing class can continue to learn at a normal pace without the teacher having to catch up any latecomers.

Course Administration & Technical Guidance
No, we use Zoom to host our online lessons, which you can download and use for free.
A webcam is not strictly necessary as it is sufficient to use audio only. However, we recommend using a webcam, so it is easier to connect and communicate with your teacher and fellow classmates since you will be spending 15 hours with them and it is much more pleasant when everybody can see everybody else.
Whatever the case, your tutor will use their webcam, ensuring you can observe their gestures, examples, and any media they share via their own screen.
Yes, if you need help using Zoom and setting up your microphone and webcam, send us an inquiry. Our Technical Team will walk you through everything you need to do and will test your set up with you, guaranteeing you are ready for your online course.
No, you will not need to buy a course book to complete your course.
Your teacher will share their materials (excerpts from coursebooks, audio files, videos, etc.) with you during the classes using screenshare. Your teacher may also recommend other optional course books and grammar books to help supplement or continue your studies, but Language Trainers bears no responsibility for your decision to make such a purchase.
Yes, our teachers record all lessons for three reasons:
It enables them to review lessons in more detail, so they can adjust the course plan to suit the needs and interests of each enrolled student;
Students who cannot attend a lesson are able to catch up later by watching the lesson back. Your teacher will send you a link to the recording after each class. You can also download the recordings and this can be helpful even if you do attend the class, in order to review what you learnt. You will be able to watch the recordings as many times as you need to;
It is very helpful for new prospective students who want to join an existing group. They can see the recording of the recent classes to determine whether the class level is suitable for them and, should they choose to join the class, can catch up on what they missed. This will avoid disruption to the existing students since the teacher will not need to explain to the new students things that have already been covered.
Please make every effort to inform your teacher as soon as possible if you cannot attend a lesson. Your teacher will plan exercises according to the number of expected students.
Unfortunately, because Language Trainers Connect courses are open group lessons which are administered on a predetermined calendar, it is not possible to rearrange classes.
However, our teachers record all their lessons. If you cannot attend a lesson, your teacher will send you the recording to watch in your own time (and preferably before the next scheduled class).
Lessons and teachers
Each course last for 5 weeks. You will have 2 lessons per week.
Each lesson is 90 minutes in length.
Throughout the course, your tutor will teach you and your classmates vocabulary, grammar, phrase, and pronunciation suitable to the level you have chosen. The majority of in-class exercises will take advantage of the group dynamic by encouraging you to converse with your fellow students. Thus, there is a big focus on developing speaking, listening, and conversational language skills, and your teacher will introduce digital media and materials to encourage learning and discussion. You will also learn reading and writing skills, although you will typically complete these exercises as optional homework.
Every Language Trainer Connect tutor has a university-level language degree and/or a professional teaching qualification. Further, each trainer has been teaching their native language for at least 2 years.
We encourage teachers to speak the language you want to learn as much as possible to help students develop their skills as quickly as possible. However, this can sometimes be difficult in group scenarios, especially for Beginners. If you need to use English at any point during your lessons, your teacher will understand you.
We only assign a tutor to teach a course after confirming they can complete every lesson. However, should unforeseen circumstances arise that mean the teacher cannot complete a lesson or finish the course, we will bring in a replacement and there will be no disruption to your course.
Your teacher will bring all the digital materials you will need to complete any in-class or homework exercises. However, if you prefer to make notes during lessons, you can make them on your computer or with a pen and notepad.
Yes, you will receive approximately 1 hour of homework per class (totaling 2 hours per week), in addition to any exercises not completed by the end of each lesson. In addition, we encourage you to connect with your fellow classmates at regular intervals between lessons, so practice and sharpen your language skills.
Homework is optional as we understand it can be hard to find spare time to complete it. However, the more you put in to the course and the assigned work, the more you will get out of it and the faster you will learn the language.
Yes, you will receive a certificate of participation after your final lesson that states which language level you have achieved. The certificate will be delivered in PDF format.
Returning Students
Every course is standalone and you are under no obligation to enroll in additional courses. Your teacher will describe what you will learn in your course in your first lesson.
But learning a language is a long-term process. To truly improve your proficiency requires hundreds of hours of study. Therefore, we recommend enrolling in multiple courses.
If you want to learn with the same teacher and/or classmates in your next course, let us know by sending us an inquiry, and encourage your teacher/classmates to do the same. If we receive enough of a consensus, we will do our best to group you together for your new course.
There are a few ways to know when you are ready to enroll in a higher-level course.
1. Your teacher tells you if they think you are ready;
2. You find a course easier than expected;
3. In between courses, complete our free online Language Level Test to see if you have advanced to the next proficiency level.
No, but keep an eye on our Promotions page for any course-specific deals.
